Why do South West trades miss so many calls?
Because the people answering the phone are the same people doing the work, and in the South West a big part of the working day is spent driving between towns. A call that rings out while you're on the Bussell Highway is usually a call to the next business on the list.
Most businesses here are owner-operators or small crews. There is no office manager to pick up, a city answering service doesn't know where Eaton or Capel is, and the busiest stretches of the year, summer and the school holidays when the holiday homes down the coast fill up, are exactly when you have the least time to ring people back.
